Thanks for the reply and suggestions as well as not to worry about harming the engine. Definitely will change the oil as I do faithfully to my Altima which has 155K miles from doing such.joe603 wrote:Welcome to NICO! I had a 2009 G37S...here's my take. The paddles are great for track days when you want the car to stay in gear, not for everyday driving. The Auto when in Drive Sport mode, will shift faster than you can with the paddles. As for the redline worries, the car is designed to go into the red, then the computer backs it off by killing the fuel...you cant hurt it. The valvetrain can take more punishment than you can dish out, believe me. The only thing that could damage the car is not changing the oil.
The fastest I taken it is 110mph and that was gradual. Not yet comfortable taking it that high (155mph) but maybe somewhere close doing a time nobody is on the road and probably when the warm weather returns so not to potentially hit some ice.Mudgen wrote:There's also a speed governor at 155mph, in case you're wondering why you can't go faster....
Or in the 140's for automagics. I've only been in the 138 range myself, thus, I've never hit the governor.Mudgen wrote:Yes, there's both a rev limiter and a speed limiter. There's some argument about whether the speed limiter is @155 or @157.
