yes yes, i know i know. this has been promised 500 times by many people and there are still no results. i am not promising anything yet. me and my buddy are trying and i emphasize TRYING to create and produce a fiberglass boot for the 240sx vert. Before i ventured into designs, i wanted to see what features you all would want the fiberglass boot to include. i have come up with some already:

1. OEM design2. Foldable3. pollisbly leathered

ANY input would be greatly appreciated because the sooner i know what to put into it the sooner i can start. if my fiberglass boots actually do make it, then i MIGHT, i emphasize greatly on might because i dont want to excite anybody, make a roadster cover. so please any input would be much appreciated

I've been kicking it around as well.

I grabbed a set of the trim that goes around the base of the top, to mount on a board and use as a template.

I had intended mine to be solid, with 2 "humps" behind the headrests, and possibly a "waterfall' coming down to the back of the console between the seats.

thats what i was thinking for my roadster cover. i was thinking i could make the boot first and then build off of it and make the roadster cover. the only thing is the roadster cover is gonna be big and hard to handle thats whats keeping me back from making it. oh yea, one more thing guys. im probably gonna cover the boots with leather. im gonna use black leather. any leather/stitching preferences?

i was thinking of a two piece so you can take the boot cover off and leave the roadster cover over the rear area. im waiting to do this til i get a cage.

if i were you i'd stitch it black. and stitsch your initials in it, real small though. i'd buy one and i'd be proud to have your name on my car. unless it sucks then i can remember where i got it from lol. keep it simple. roadster whold be cool but it would have to be as high as the pillars. keep us informed

okay so ive decided on a few things. its gonna be black leather with black stitching. and im gonna put my initials on the corner where it buttons down very small as ccptravis suggested. dont worry they will probably be in black or in a dark shade of gray. and its going to fold roughly here:

when its unfolded in its full form, the places where it folds will just look like leather beading. Whaddaya shink?? ive got 2 motor swaps to do this week so im gonna be tied up. hopefully ill get to the boot in a week or two

Sounds like a very promising idea. Hopefully you can pull it off krash.

Many people have promised, and nobody has delivered.. So i am sure it's no easy task. But, good luck to you.. let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

This is almost exactly what I have in my mind's eye for my car. Only with thicker roll bars. Those look like they would snap right off.
