concept 100 burnt up

Ok, heres my story.

My clifford concept 100 was bought by the former owner in 98. it worked sumwhat fine till i finaly realized that was my source of constant battery drains. (my car isnt driven right now, and sits the majority of the time). anyway i pulled the brain out and found that a capasitor burnt to crap. i keep the computer disconnected now but find my battery still dies fairly easily, but it has no hope when the brain stays plugged in. HELP what should i do, just get the thing completely removed? or hunt down the discontinued brain?

why not just disconnect the battery? check out prices on the discontinued brain yet?maybe the battery has been drained far too many times and needs replacing?those are just my quick guesses.
