So heres the plan for my setup. [93' 240sx FastBack]

I plan on having components in the front, 6.5 int he door, tweeters in the dash.

Tweeters in the rear passenger plastic arm rest area near the top and as far back as possible. 6.9 in the back and two 10's in molded fiberglass in the corner pockets (hatchback) against the seat facing back up and at the hatch.

ok so yeah speakers but heres the interesting part. Im not going to have a cd player im going to have a 7" in dash monitor hooked up to a computer in the back. The computer will be a simple 150 computer built from the cheapest parts running an 80gig harddrive, wifi capable (upload when in garage) with an 24bit192khz soundcard plugged up to a 1200 4watt amp running all the smalls.

For the subs a 2000watt amp... Ive been thinking of Lanzar mostly. The amp and comp will all be mounted in the spare tire well (may be space issues depending on the amps chosen) under plexiglass

The interior of my car is painted with a red theme (i have those cheesy red and black seat covers you can get at any auto store, but they match well and the interior upholstery will be done to match eventually) to match the outside of it and so everythign will be illuminated red.

Ohh yeah to navigate the pc I will mount a wireless trackball mouse in the center console. Ill be running a program called Entech PowerStrip to force the computer into the monitors resolution so everything is visible.

The pc will be custom built with no cdrom or anything like that (maybe ill throw in a dvd player later) but it will be like a pyramid with the top portion cut off, made of plexiglass with water cooling. (This is a must, i ran a comp in my car once hooked up to a theatre system.. yeah was going on a long trip and wanted good music and my burner was broke... im a persistent person.. anyways the comp easily overheated in the car and locked up.)

Touch Screens are too expensive and im weary i have to work specialized software to be able to navigate a comp with one.

Im looking for criticism and maybe some ideas on brand.

Sorry it has taken so long to respond. This forum is really slow for some reason.

First, I would recommend that you NOT use Lanzar amps. They are extremely overrated.

Second. I wouldn't bother with the tweeters in the rear passenger arm rest. It's a waste IMO.

As for the computer. When you mount it I recommend that you use soft rubber isolators so that the hard drive doesn't get damaged when you hit a bump.

About the mouse. Have you seen that mouse that works in 3D? Meaning you can lift it up and move it in the air to control the pointer? I'd recommend that you look into that. OR you could Get an ATI All-in-Wonder card that comes with a remote and the software to allow you to control windows from the remote. That'd make it alot easier.

The tweeters in the dash is actually a good idea. The sound will reflect(almost perfectly) off the glass and be aimed right at your head.

The soundcard. I would actually go with a motherboard that has built in 5.1 sound. Then use the outputs from that to go to different amps.

Also, don't forget to put a push button switch upfront to turn on the computer.

Another thing, I would look into a DC to DC power supply rather then using an inverter

Random thoughts:

You'll be sorry if you don't go with a touchscreen and frontend.

Ditto on the dc-dc psu, but I'm betting you already planned on that.

Watercooling in a carpc is complicated to pull off and not usually worth it.

You need to visit http://www.mp3car.com if you haven't already, but again I'm betting that you have.

Nope never been to that site, and upon extensive searching actually found few people doing this. Wow, I don't feel so special anymore ):

Anyways, yeah DC to DC was planned but right now I have an inverter to throw in there.

Why don't you recommend some amps? I only hear good things about lanzar, especially their speakers.

Ill go look up that 3d thing and I also thought about embedding a mic in the steering wheel and using voice recognition
