I want to do some sort of upgrade to my z32's computer. Something mild, to give me some extra power that has been lost over 23 years of this car's existence. I know of two upgrades that are available, one being Jet Performance V-Force controller which is approxiamtely $260 through summit racing. I also found this cheap performance chip for the z32 na on ebay and THAT I would like to get everyone's opinion on.

Jet Performance V-Force controller
I have heard of Jet performance and they have a pretty decent reputation. However, I have heard in some other platforms that the addition of a controller on a NA motor isn't even noticeable. Anyone have experience with these on their Z.

Ebay Performance Chip
here is the link to the ebay listing

I know some of you are against anything for sale on eBay because of stories or reputation of some products that are for sale there. I am aware of the saying "you get what you pay for" and "a dollar saved isn't always a dollar earned" yoda yoda yoda... That being said there have been 10 of them sold and someone surely must have purchased one on this forum. It's a cheap chip and ECUs are far from cheap. Anyone have any info on this?

any help is greatly appreciated.

Why not just get a company like Z1, Ashspec, or JWT to socket and install an eprom chip? The ebay link is an eprom chip, and it would be useless without a socketed ECU. And honestly, it won't give a 20hp gain. With an ECU upgrade from a company like Z1, they program the chip to better suit you modifications; intake, exhaust, 91 or 93 octane fuel, and bump the rev limit up ~500rpm.

I thank you for bringing that to my attention, I suppose I posted this topic a bit prematurely. Z1 is a great way to get the performance upgrade I need. Once again thank you, I will be sure to do more research next time I post as this is pretty much a no brainer especially because I've made purchases from them in the past. Please forgive my noobness when it comes to Z32s I'm still kind of new to this chassis.

YouZed, you need to do a lot more research before jumping into any mods, have a read through Honad's build thread to get an idea of what a NA is capable of, you may be surprised at how much it takes to squeeze water from this rock (NA Z32).
