The turbine doesn't make the compressor any more efficient. It may increase overall VE, thus increasing power, but a stage 3 T3 of any A/R is necessarily the most efficient. This can vary anyways. Turbines also have efficiency maps(they read differently and are not widely published). And I'll bet the GT series turbines actually have some of the best efficiencies for their corresponding sizes. Realistically, turbines also have to be mapped to determine the best efficiencies. And this will probably still be dependent on different airflow properties and such.
The Garrett GT catalog shows turbine maps, but it reads somewhat differently. It lists the max efficiency, but does not show where it is on the map.
And ball bearinggs do not add or take anything away from the compressor or turbine efficiency. It will affect the overall, but not as a result of a difference of Flow vs Pressure Ratios. It's just a matter of less loss to friction.
