compressor housing gasket?

i have noticed that some compressor housings have small rubber gaskets in them but mined doesnt. is that a problem? also, my turbo was originally internally WG but now external. there are brackets that surround the housring holding it onto the turbo but the internal WG assembly was part of the braket setup. would it be ok to use washers under the bolts to hold the compressor housing on? i need to use 3 of them.

seems like washers would hold up fine doing the same thing. i would try to get some brackets tho

any idea as to where i could get some brackets? i have been searching around for about an hour and cant find anything.
