I've seen some on Amazon that have pins to help hold the springs in place so they are less likely to pop loose but I don't know if they will work on my car. For you guys that do this at home, what kind of spring compressor do you use?

I am sure there are others, but I think they all operate under the same principle, so here is the one that I used for my M35X...

$35 from Amazon is not bad, and it seemed to work pretty well. I suspect that you local auto parts store will likely loan one to you for free, if you are so inclined.

Good luck!

I got mine from Advance Auto Parts or one of the other parts store. They have a tool loaner program. They looked just like that only..... no cost.
