compression testing an engine outside vehicle

i know how to compression test a engine outside a vehicle as long as the starter motor works,

can i still compression test an engine if it has no intake/exhaust manifolds currently on the engine ?

Yes you can test it in/out of the vehicle with or without manifolds.
