I picked up my S14 couple of month ago and started doing small stuff here and there. Decided to do the compression test and this is what I got:

1 - 2152 - 2103 - 2104 - 205

Now i thought the numbers were high so a week later i re-did it (thought I messed something up the first time) and got same numbers.

What do you think ? Is this normal ? This is my first project and I learn as I go.

Thanks in advance.

PS. The car has 190k miles on the motor.

i've seen this on 2 or 3 other s14 motors, either carbon buildup or milled head.

Your engines in pretty damn good shape for 190k.

Thank you guys for the replies. Now, my next question ..... Seems like carbon build up should be the easiest to check/try to get rid of. Should I seafoam it and see if it gets rid of it, or does anyone know of any other ways ??

Thanks.

One time I accidentally ran a coolant line to a vacuum source. It smoked pretty good. I pulled the head off a year later and the pistons were perfect.

Maybe a steam cleaning would be a last resort lol...

Yah try seafoam for now and see if that helps.May want to pour a bit into each cylinder after it has warmed up to help soak in and penetrate the carbon. While it's running, just let it suck in through the IACV hose or the 1/8" line back of the intake manifold/fuel pressure regulator.
