Compression Test Results...

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Well a couple of days ago I decided I'd do a good ole' compression test on the KA24. My results were as follows:

Cylinder 1: 195Cylinder 2: 195Cylinder 3: 187Cylinder 4: 195

I'm thinking these are ok results right? I mean it's 10 year old motor is 130k miles on it. If you guys have your results feel free to share.

Carbon deposits from years of use will inflate compression numbers...so higher #s don't always mean you have a healthier motor than then next guy.

Even #s across the board is a better indicator of how healthy the motor is, and the limit is a 14psi difference...yours is as even as they get, which is good.

Looks good and healthy..."standard" spec is 179psi, so you're OK.

limit is 14psi difference between cylinders =)
