Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, so forgive me if this is a simple question. I have recently had a problem with a bluish smoke that comes from my exhaust when I rev it high from a standstill, but only then, not normal driving. I recently did a compression test and the results were 1-160, 2-120, 3-165, 4-163...what does this mean, and can that be the cause of the smoke. Oh, I drive a 1990 240, 163k miles, Injen intake and soon to be headers. Thanks.

The #2 at 120 might be due to bad rings. They might be worn, which would allow oil to travel up the cylinder walls past the rings, where it burns, causing the blue smoke. Consider your mileage and the symptoms. If you want to increase performance, you may want to think about doing a rebuild or a swap.

Do the test again, but this time add a small amount of oil into the #2 Cylinder. If the compression goes up, the ring to cylinder seal is bad. You can also do a leakdown test to determine where the leak is.

Id say do a leak down test, with those kind of numbers, it seems odd that it would be good on 3 out of 4. may be a valve/leaky valve stem seals causing the burning oil. or try the teaspoon full of oil method, thats always a good way to find out.
