Well today i finally performed a compression test on my 89 single cam coupe. Anyways the results where 175 175 145 160, this doesnt come as a surprise to me as i was burning oil eveytime i would beat on it. So i was ust wondering do any of the engine restore and such work? They claim to even out engine compression and such but i would like to know if it actually helps. Im not looking to fix the problem as i plan on swapping for sr in the coming months but i would like to maintain my ka as much as i can. Also i need to chage my oil tommorow seeing as im replacing my oil pan gasket, my last chang I used castrol gtx high mileage 10w-30 is this ok i was wondering if it was bad to swith to a non synthetic or not any suggestions?

engine restore won't rebuild your engine. those compression's are fairly weak (the 145 not the 175's). this may mean that a valve is not sealing properly or you may have a ring that is not holding in all of your pressure. It should hold out untill you swap to your SR. as for the synthetic oil, you can switch between the two but you may develop slow leaks.

Okay thats what i had assumed. But i just wanted to know if any of tha additives would be worht using i guesse not. Anyways i wanna try to reduce leakes and such seeing as i am burning oil and i dont need leaks to go along with that. Thanks for your help.
