Hey guys, I did a comp test and averaged out all of the 3 per cylinder. Here's the outcome:1=170, 175, 175 ------ 173.32=180, 183, 184 ------ 182.33=184, 185, 185 ------ 184.64=170, 179, 179 ------ 176

I'm not sure if I did it right, I started from cylinder 4 and worked my way back to 1. Are these results showing a blown headgasket or a worn piston????Thanks in advanced guys~!

K6 resize the sig mang!

Those numbers sound fine... with a blown headgasket you'd get something like this:

165 143 120 160

It's usually only one or two cylinders.

That doesn't sound bad at all. if you hada blown head then one or two of the cylinders would be more than 15 different from the others, the same with a worn piston. Thos are all withing 10 so not too bad at all.

If that's the case, then how come my engine would crank over, have a hard as hell time of starting, idle at 2000 rpm and then die out???? Also, it chunks out white smoke.....Keep in mind, its a 1991 LE, Fastback, 148000 miles.

Since this compression test doesnt really say that there's a blown head gasket, is it safe to say that my head gasket's alright???? I mean, is there any way that the compression test could be faulty??? I really dont know what else I should do, and since I'm in Critical Thinking this semester (Psychology), I've decided to have it towed to the shop. No use trying to fix a problem I cant find right???? What do you guys think????

Well, the white smoke doesnt come out in clouds anymore. And, it seems like its getting less and less. Could it be that the water/coolant/vapors left over from the fuel injection problem is still in the exhaust piping???? Could this be the reason why there's white smoke??? I mean, its not nearly as much smoke as the first time I started her up......What else should I look out for????
