compression test and no spark

How do you compression test a cylinder?? Also how do you test a coil on a 1990 240. I'm gettin no spark to my plugs whats up with that??

To do a compression test you need a compression test kit. They are sold at most auto parts stores. All you do is remove the plugs and install the gauge and crank the engine. First you need to figure out why you have no spark. Check for blown fuses, look at the cap and rotor and also make sure the rotor is turning when you crank the car. After you check that if you dont find a problem then there are more tests but they are more difficult and take a while to list.
