um that isn't great compression. my 84 720 is 150+ in three cylinders and the one that will keep enough compression to run is at like 120.

I'm pretty sure not looking it up that comp should be like 165.<---NA has higher comp than turbo.

Sounds like it need a rebuild bad. You'd be putting time and money into from the sound of it.

I'd pass unless you plan on doing a ground up motor build and are getting this dirt cheap.

Im getting it in a trade(if I decide to pick it up).

its a stock 240, with a stock sr redtop, that has a blacktop valve cover, front mount, and stage 2 clutch.

can post pictures if wanted but really theyre not too exciting.

did you do a compression test your self? Id do one personally with a new battery and see whats up.

if its like a good deal to you even if you had to rebuild the motor then get it and we can try to help you get it going strong.

Nope, car is in San Antonio, I plan on taking a trip down there this weekend to check it out..
Im getting a few offers for my car, and I just really want something good and solid to start out with.

Ive had a SR, but to say the most, I only bled the clutch, and little work like that.

Lol thanks for the re assurance though, made me feel better about this.

I'm thinking KA or something just saw this. Cliff notes from a few threads. Sorry to mislead.

"Stock Sr20DET compression should be around 170psi (highest) and 130ish/140is as long as each cylinder is within 5% of each other and even so this is the result of a worn engine."

"128 psi service limit, 156 psi max (Brand New Motor)

For any S13-S14 SR20DET

No more than 5 psi variation between cylinders."

"But to answer your question consistency between all cylinders is what your really want along with numbers around 150psi."
