Ok so while im waiting for the transmission id thought id check out a couple things on the motor. First thing this motor hasnt been started in about 7-8 weeks.

Here goes

Drivers bank 150 - 155 - 162 - 180

Pasng. bank 170 - 140 - 155 - 155

So i think maybe the rings are stuck from sitting so long So i pour a cap full of marvel mystery oil down each plug hole and let it sit for about 2.5 hours

Then i recheck

Drivers bank 180 - 210 - 190 - 190

Pass Bank 180 - 180 -180 - 180

Think this is ok guys?/?

Next thing pulled off one of the valve covers, looks pretty clean for a high milage motor

Lastly decided to check for timing guide replacements so removed the pass side cam gear cover and sure as **** found peices of it, though the motor has great oil pressure and ran great before so im pretty sure no damage was done.

Hey man,

I just compression tested my motor - and all cylinders are +/- 3 of 160...

It sounds low to me, Id rather have much higher than that - whats this mystery oil stuff? Is it similar to the "Engine Restorer" stuff that you buy in a can?

Sure looks like it proved its value to you atleast hehe!

What was your oil pressure runnin at as well man? Im curious to know - I think mines 45PSI last time it was checked
