i heard the compression ratio for the na is 10:1 or something is that right? also when i do my engine swap would it be possible for me 2 take my 10:1 compression pistons from my na and place them in my tt without any damage or trouble, because i heard that the turbo model has lower compression pistons than the na.

I don't know for sure what the CR of the TT is off hand but it is less than and N/A and if you raise the compression of a TT, you are limited to how much boost you can ut to it, at stock levels it should be fine, your best bet is to stay with stock comperssion, if your experiencing lag, then you likely need your turbos rebuilt and or an engine overhall

and to be clean the turbo has lower compression to allow for all the extra air being blonw in by the turbo's, many modern turbo diesels run 18:1 CR, but then they ignite the fuel from pressure and heat alone (no spark plugs) and deisel has a much higher octane than pump gas, if your looking for power, the biggest improvement is larger turbo's, but you need to couple them with added fuel via larger injectors and a rechipped ecu

the tt engine im dropping in has less than 32k miles on it so im pretty sure im not gonna need 2 rebuild my turbos, but a friend of mine has a mitsubishi 3000 gt na, and he's in the process of putting turbos on his na motor, he says that when he's done his car will be faster than the vr4 which is the turbo model of his car, he says scince his pistons are running a 10:1 cr and the vr4 is running like 8:1 that he'd out beat a vr4, but he says hed have to run at low boost.

wouldnt you get about the same performance out of a turbo charged na motor running at 8 psi, with a cr of 10:1 and a turbo motor running at 14 psi with an 8:1 cr? how does that work?

Well, if I recall correctly N/A Z's have 10.5:1 not 10:1, but thats neither here nor there. I also have a friend in the the middle of adding the stock 9b vr4 turbos to his N/A 3si. Yes you have to run lower boost and yes it will be faster than a stock vr4, but not 'that' much. He is also going for drag, so he doesn't care too much about the motor. If I were you, I would would stick with the stock compression on the TT.

Or somewhere close to it. Putting NA pistons in a TT motor or just throwing turbos at an NA z32 motor is beyond silly. Come on now.

first of all i know enough not to run high boost on high compression pistons im not a moron, if im gonna swap the pistons i would lower the boost of course, but all that attitude is unnecessary, im new to this sort of stuff, everyone has got to learn from somewhere...

thanx for the advice everyone, I think i have an idea of what ive gotta do now

What is this crap? Way to act like a bunch of little kids and bicker back and forth everyone. I don't care what forums you are from or how much you know or don't know. Get along or go play somewhere else.

Lock and cleaned up.
