Ive tried searching for the answer to this but was somewhat unsuccessful.

I have heard from a reliable source that if i wanted to throw a turbo kit on my KA i might want to do a compression test and make sure the numbers are similar or consistant.

This i knew but this person also told me that the numbers didnt matter as long as they were all around each other. Did they mean just to a certain degree they didnt matter like i think optimal is something like 179 on all 4 so they meant it could be alittle higher or lower? Or did they mean it just plain out doesnt matter meaning i could have straight 100's or straight 300's and it wouldnt matter?

Wouldnt higher ones cause detonation?

According to the FSM Standard psi is 179 Minimum is 151 difference between each cylinder 14. If its too high most likely carbon build up some can be cleared up by flushing engine,IE: seafoam, intake mani, throttle body. If too low add oil into cylinder if it rises up then possibly piston rings..
