I don't think he's asking about brake calipers. I truly do believe he's referring to a digital or mechanical device referred to as calipers that measures height, width, and in the case of my calipers, even depth.datsunboy wrote:ummm....your looking for a compression height of a piston.......but then you ask about brake callipers????
Correct, would be great.knightrider wrote:are you talking about center of the wristpin( what attaches the pison to the rod) to the top of the piston? if so, i can get you a measurement on monday, my ca pisons are at my work.
I got 29.56mm.......Hmmm, whatever works .knightrider wrote:the measurement i got was 29.80 mm.
sounds like you have the pistons from a stroker kit, either that or they're for something else entirelySwedish Mike wrote:Thanks guys! Very nice of you to take the time!
The reason for asking is that I got a set of new forged pistons here and they have 25 mm comp height.I hoped you would answer the same but that´s close enough, I need to grind off the block 5 mm´s and move the cam belt tensioner. (Joke)
About the caliper, I tried to explain this tool to my US buddy last time I was in CA and he said caliper. Easy to remember now, same as brakes.

Yeah, these pistons are made for a Swedish car. I´ll probably use them with longer rods.sideways danny wrote:sounds like you have the pistons from a stroker kit, either that or they're for something else entirely
I really don´t know, old word, used as long as I can remember.datsunboy wrote:question.......why would you call it a bolt.....when there is nothing that ressembles a bolt anywhere near it?
I know, I´m very old and know strange stuff. You can see my pic in the avatar.datsunboy wrote:haha.....that mustve been awhile ago!yeah that'd explain the bolt theory I guess!
