Fast question, is there anyone out there with a stock piston and a caliper near by?Need the height from bolt center to piston top.

Searched but couldn´t find a thing.

I don't think he's asking about brake calipers. I truly do believe he's referring to a digital or mechanical device referred to as calipers that measures height, width, and in the case of my calipers, even depth.

Last time I went to USA I (thought I) learned a new word?

I mean a steel scale with adjustable gap, to measure diameters and stuff.

One first and last bump, if you got a stock piston please measure it.I´ll give that guy a discount on the upcoming fuelrail GB.

Thanks guys! Very nice of you to take the time!

The reason for asking is that I got a set of new forged pistons here and they have 25 mm comp height.I hoped you would answer the same but that´s close enough, I need to grind off the block 5 mm´s and move the cam belt tensioner. (Joke)

About the caliper, I tried to explain this tool to my US buddy last time I was in CA and he said caliper. Easy to remember now, same as brakes.

sounds like you have the pistons from a stroker kit, either that or they're for something else entirely

Yeah, these pistons are made for a Swedish car. I´ll probably use them with longer rods.

the word calliper is far too broad....could mean a few things.

we call them "Vernier Callipers"...as I'm sure you guys do too.....but maybe your just too lazy to call them the full version......we call them just "verniers" for short.

and bolt?....reffering to the gudgeon pin/wristpin?......you guys are crazy!

no wonder your always confused

sorry datsun, we shorten it to caliper here, and its a wristpin here. i dont think ive ever heard it refered to as a bolt. when talking about measurments and calipers, its pretty straight forward to us lazy americans. :P

Sorry about the wrong words, they are called piston bolts here and I´m learning new words every day.

The best thing is this: The US guys understand what I mean!

question.......why would you call it a bolt.....when there is nothing that ressembles a bolt anywhere near it?

I really don´t know, old word, used as long as I can remember.

Before they invented floating pins there were threads in one end, might be the answer.
