Hey guys,

I wanted to know how much it costs to compression check your engine.

Also what is the ideal PSI of a 96 240SX say next to brand new ?

even if your readings are lower 130 150 psi dosen't mean that the motor is bad. What you don't want is more then 25% variance between cylinders.

some variance would indicate wear, but will still have some life left to it....

it would just mean the motor is very weak. its rated at 179psi in the FSM. at 149psi i belive is when you're suppose to rebuild or get a new engine. shops charge about $30 for the test i learned from the girls 240 that i fixed. but its easy as hell to do jsut buy the tester at pepboys so you can do it whenever you want
