How do you compress the valve spring to replace a damaged valve?

For KA24E or KA24DE? either way, this will work for both. AND it will work with the head on the car. But have fun replacing a valve with it still on the block :pIf its for the E you can get the cheaper one that looks like this:

any auto parts store should have them. You might want to see if they rent valve spring compressors out. That'll save you some moolah. I work at a Schuck's (CSK Auto) and we rent them out. I'm pretty sure autozone does too if there aren't any CSK's around. Pay the deposit, use it, return it for a full refund. Absolutly no charge to the customer apon return.

Also, is the head of the valve bent or the stem? If stem then you probably wont be able to remove it. But if it's just the head then you probably good. Just cut a piece of a straw off and slide it over the stem. That way you don't score the inside of the guide when removing it. Get as thin a straw as you can.

No the valves aren't bent the head i'm going to use has had a valve crack and it messed up the piston but the head is fine. The head i have now is being a pain in my aS$ i went to drill out a bolt that snapped off and it ****ed up my head so i've got good valves in both heads i just need to swap 1 valve to the newer head.
