Howdy friends!

Soo...finally got around to buying an NRG quick lock. However, within a few weeks I noticed they keys turned up missing and it's locked to the hub. Luckilly the hub is off the car so that's no big deal.

Anybody here (or at least anyone you know of) know how to duplicate a lost key for this thing? Here's what I know:
-dimpled key with about 6 lock pins inside the lock
-its a cam-style lock

I can ship it out if i have to. Yeah I could buy another lock since NRG will not give me a key, but I don't want to risk breaking the hub either.

Anybody out there with advice? thanks!

I've no idea...
Not even sure if a regular locksmith can make one for you.

Hey Razi,

Exactly the type of key I need. I know someone out there has to be able to make one, even from scratch?

I did some research and it only requires making a form of the lock using special brass or aluminum tooling. Then it's just a matter of creating the dimples with a drill. You can see by design that it's rather basic.

I'm more than willing to ship out the assembly to someone who could make the key. I can even pay or trade parts or something.

I posted this question to my security/locksmith friend. Are you sitting down?

Your options would be to try and remove the lock cylinder and send it back to the company, they THEN might provide you a key or sell you another cylinder with a key. (Call and ask first?)

If you remove the cylinder, have a view of the pins, obtain a key blank, and shape a drill bit to form the dimples, it's possible you could make your own key.

The cheapest alternative might be to replace they cylinder with another from some sort of "lock supply" company. There is a reason these are high security locks, they are near impossible to pick. Sorry.
