Hi,

I have had my Versa for 2 months now and stumbled across a great deal on winter tires that I just could not pass. (tirerack.com is selling Bridgestone Blizzaks 185/65R15 for 43$...)

So now that I have my tires for the winter, I am looking for wheels that will fit on my Versa. Since I am sure the dealers ask a ridiculous amount for steel wheels (and Wal Mart and others do not have them), I'd like to find wheels from other vehicles that are certain to fit on my Versa.

From what I've read, it looks like some Sentra and Altima wheels from previous models could fit.

So I'd like to have some kind of list of wheels that will fit so I can start looking around.

Junkyard is the cheapest way to get 15" steelies. I'm sure there's some somewhere. People don't exactly go nuts for steelies. Here at the u-auto, it's $11 a wheel.

11$ a wheel, wow!

It would be awesome if it was like that in Canada! Here lots of people have two sets of wheels (usually alloys for the summer and steelies for the winter) so steelies are not that cheap.

The thing is I found some guy in the classifieds that was selling some 15 inches alloys. I don't know from which car they were coming, but they were stamped with Nissan 15x6JJ and the bolt pattern was right. I tried them on my Versa, but the calipers were touching the wheel.

So that's why I'm asking for models that we know are going to fit on my car.

Thanks!

The Altima alloy rims are 45mm offset and will touch the calipers. A 3mm spacer brings it out juuuuust enough. 5mm would work better but not sure if the lugs will grip 7-8 threads. With a 3 mm spacer I'm grabbing 9-10 threads. A set of 4 3mm spacers cost me $12. I also bought a set of used alloys for winter. It's better to look good than to run good ya know.

I saw the deal on Tirerack Bridgestones but after running 205/60/15's and getting a lot better stability I wouldn't put 185's back on. In fact they're sitting stacked in my garage waiting to sell. 2000 miles minus the TPMS sensors. In the winter you're more likely to lose your caps. I've got those sitting around. Gots to get them on EBay or Craigslist

Hi,

I've found someone locally that is selling 15 inches steelies from a 2003 Nissan Sentra.

Would those wheels fit on the Versa?

Thanks!

Yes, should be fine. Looks like the B15 Sentra's steelie is 15x6. Not sure on the offset, but I'm sure its +35 to +42 or so, should be bascially like the stock Versa wheel.

Alright, thanks.

From this website : http://www.courtesyparts.com/sentra/B15_specs.html

It looks like the Sentra wheels are : 6.0JJ X15 with 40 mm offset

So the only difference with the Versa would be 0.5 inches wider.

I am guessing this is not a problem.

No, not a problem at all.

4x114.3 for Versa and a lot of other Nissans (any 4 lug 240sx, B15 Sentra, etc)

I've bought some wheels that were on a 2003 Nissan Sentra this weekend.

Tried them on the Versa and they look just fine. I'll post back when I have my winter tires mounted on them.

I got Sentra steel wheels for my snow tires too, and the fit was definitely no problem. Yes, they're 0.5" wider.

Put me down as a big booster of the wider Sentra rims and tires on a Versa.

I am running 205 60 15's and the difference is amazing. The car tracks straight and true, rides quieter and smoother.

When I put the summer OEM 185's back on, it drove like a Yugo that had been in a front end collision.

I'm running stock size winters on the Sentra wheels. As soon as my OEM summer tires are worn out, I'll replace them with 205/60/15 or 195/60/15. BTW, I was noticing that the car didn't seem to track so well on Highway 2 (Calgary to Edmonton). Is it just a bad road or is it an alignment problem, or is it because of the 185 tires? So far I've only made one return trip on Hwy 2 so I couldn't quite ascertain what the problem is.

We are discussing Nissan factory wheels, not aftermarket.

I might be slightly off topic here, but I looked at a set of aftermarket rims which are 15x7 with dual bolt pattern (4x100 and 4x114.3) with +38mm offset. Do you guys think that the 185/65R15 OEM tires would work or wold the 7" width stretch the tires out too much?

And how about the +38mm offset? Too much? Too little?

Thanks in advance.

To me that's too much of a stretch. But possibly could work. for 7" I would have 205-225 sized tires, with 215 being ideal.

+38 is good for these cars.

Thanks for the reply. I suspected it would be a bit of a stretch for the 185's. But, these rims would be perfect for the upgrade to 205's!
