Compatability Questions?

ok I have a 90 240 fastback and am looking to buy a wrecked 95 240 and have a few questions.

1)will the differential fit the 90 with no mods(it is the 5 lug which means LSD, right)2) could I do the 5 lug swap 3) would the leather seats fit my 90 including the back seat4)Could I put the motor from that car into the 90 (could i still use my greddy sp)

any help with this would be greatly apreciatedthank you for any responses to these questions Paul

1. Yes, but 5-lug doesn't mean it has an LSD. 2. Yes3. Yes4. Yes, but it's a fair amount of labor.

why would it be hard to swap since? it is a 95 that means it is an lsd if it was a five lug right

It's an OBDII engine, meaning it has alot more sensors for one including the secondary 02 sensor which your exhaust system is not bunged for.

Secondly, you will have to re-wire you ancilleries such as your wipers because they are different on the S14.

Like I said before, just because it's 5-lug does not mean it has an LSD. You need to verify that it has one, check for an orange dot above the diff. fill hole, OR... you can jack up the rear end of the car and spin one wheel forward. The other wheel should move the same direction.

Do you think that the car for like 400 bucks is it worth it for the spindels and the leather. it has abs but i could not see if the diff had a orange sticker it had what looked to be a sensor going to it though. thanks for your help by the way

I don't know about the leather. Personally I would pay to NOT have it!! However, $400 for the five lug conversion with spindles, hubs ect...........DAMN! Go for it. You can always part out what you don't need.

cloth is ugly that is why i would do it i have a grey car with black chrome (grayish color) rims and black would look better then the stock color. hey i see that you are in colorado need any S13 parts i have a parts car?

I hear what you're saying about the seats. I have a black interior with that weird black/grey weave.........I pulled the seats right away and installed a set of Sparco "Speeds". Too bad about the cloth inserts on the door panels and over the glove box. I would pay to swap it out for a nice black cloth........but that money is better spent on something else!

It still may not have LSD... the sensor is an ABS sensor.

jeansguy, you know you can pull off the cloth on the door panels, right? just comes right off, leaves nice black vinyl underneath.

240addiction, look inside too see if it's got the HICAS light, if it does, it's got the lsd

It's an S14... they didn't come with HICAS.

did the 5 lug S14's have different shocks than the 4 luggers? I know with the 300Z spindles, the shock mounts are different, forcing you to buy new shocks.

Slightly larger diameter pistons in the shocks and struts due to the SE package, but it's a direct bolt on to my 4-lug S14.

Someone correct me on this... but if it has ABS doesn't that mean it has lsd also? I thought I read somewhere that in the s14's ABS and LSD came in a package.... ..but i'm not 100% sure..

Thanks for the info! I'll check to see if your pulling my chain because that odd color tweed stuff has been bothering me for years.
