I think it is 8 GB but quite honestly, the whole CF thing is a wasted of time money & effort.Do you really have music on a CF card?

USB card readers are pretty cheap to be honest. faster than burning cds, as well as reusuable

I have lots of SD cards around and just got a CF to SD converter card off of eBay. Pretty inexpensive and works great.

The real magic would be USB to CF then I could use my portable HD with 250MB of music and not be limited to my iPod

I tried to find the above soultion but only came up with USB I to CF and it was like $150. Anyone know of a cost effective solution for this?

I doubt there is, the problem is that you would have to somehow expose only 8 GB of your hard drive at a time, which is complicated and would take you setting up ahead of time.

(This post assumes you have a 250 GB portable HD, not 250 MB)

Maybe I am missing something here, but if you buy a card reader, one example is a 23 - 1 card reader, they sell for about $10 on the net, the can hold an SD card and a compact flash card.

What I do is hook-up the compact flash to my computer and the to all programs and open, computer, then the drive that contains the compact flash drive, then I click the upper right hand box to make the window smaller.

Then I go to the main menu all programs and open computer and the drive that would contain the drive that you want to copy your music files from. C drive or exterinal drive.

When you are in the music file that you want highlight the albums, songs that you want shift + move mouse over what you want to copy. Once all the files that you want are highlighted then right click and choose copy. Then go to the compact flash file you want to copy your music to and paste the files from the hard drive into the CD.

Sound confusing it not really.

If someone reads this I have a question how do you convert apple's files so they can bet moved to a CF and be played on the Infiniti system. I had no problem with other types of music files

You need to convert Apple files to MP3 in order to play via the CF slot...

thats the internal hard drive not the adapter compact flash card.

OP there is no limit to the size of the card. there is a limit on the amount of songs to be displayed/played. i think its a maximum of 500. so if you get low quality files and fit them on all 1gb card then thats where you willl be. you can have a 32gb card and have continues files that are a hour long for example as long as they dont exceed the 500 files mark.

i use two 2gb cards to switch out and its definitely sufficient.
