well i bought my 240 back in aug. and have loved it ever since (89 coupe). I started noticing the very few we have around town and 1 was a kid that goes to my school. This is a 93 5 speed 40k on it and in mint condition with leather and all the options. All he talks about and all everyone from school talks about is how he is going to put a sr20 in but the problem is he doesnt even know they make more than one kind. I told him hey are you getting the black top and he goes, "no im getting sr 20." Anyways all he has done is added unneeded switches, fog lights, speakers (not subs but speakers) and 17" moteges. Nothing will ever come of that car as long as he owns it. Another person has a 89 gold coupe and he is a weirdo that doesnt even know what he has. There are 3 other coupes in the same position and 1 other one that is being riced out. I saw a dohc 5 speed today that was lowered and had some light weight wheels but came to find out it was the guys car used only to get him to the bar and back and doesnt know what he has. There are many riced/ pile s14s. There are 3 s13s and 1 nice 98 that i have not got a chance to speak with the owners. But it frustrates me that i probably have the worst and i appreciate it the most. Why must so many 240s go to waste in iowa salty winters :(.

Well, as it turns out, some of the guys I know here with money only knows enough to rice out their cars. They have no idea how anything in a car works or what can they can do with their money to acutally make it perform and not just look "cool". For example, lowering a car, they don't know that it can help in cornering, they just thinks it looks cool. I think it's all about knowledge, if you do a mod to your car and you can state specifically what it does, then it's not rice, even if it's just a small mod. Whether someone rice out their ride or not, just be glad you're money is being put to good use.

To give you an example of how illiterate some of these guys are in cars, I have a buddy who started a crew called drifters (no longer a crew) because he thinks he can drift with a FWD and not only that, all the members have FWD cars. Here's the part that show's he knows nothing about cars. He bought a set of Iridium plugs for $80 dollars. He was *****'n about the person who installed his current set, saying they tighten it too much. So he only hand tighten them and his car ran like s***. Well, he took it to a mechanic and the mechanic charged him $250 dollars to tighten the plugs, not only that the mechanic replaced them with some 50 cent plugs.

I have many more stories about these people but my reply is already long enough. So I guess, just be glad you know whats going on.

My ex bf's brother stole his moms astro van and tried drifting it around a dry corner after downing 1/5th of vodka. When we arrived, it was upside down in someone's back yard.

The 240's around here are way rare. at least in the Oly area.

I'm willing to uh.... do my part to help out the 240 community and accept any of those poor vehicles. You know, to give them a good home, and stuff.
