Common problems with 06-current M45

I am very close to buying a used current gen M45 (probably 07 or low mileage 06). Consumer Reports lists these problems:

2006: Slight problems with Electrical, Climate, Suspension, Brakes, Squeaks and Rattles, Body Hardware, Power Equipment. Worse problem with Audio System.2007: Slight problems with Suspension and Audio System. Worse problem with Power Equip.

For all, the overall New Car Prediction was Much better than average.My question: are people here really having these problems, and if not what are your major problems? Would you recommend spending more for the 07 over the 06 for reliability reasons?Thanks

PS-the "Slight" problems are the ones with CR's circle with the top half red, and "Worse" problems are CR's empty circles.

Hello there and Welcome to NICO!

If the car you are looking at is Certified or passes a prepurchase inspection I would recommend one highly. If you are going to spend more money to get a newer one go for the 08. With the recent depreciation on them you can score a used one for a fraction of the origenal cost. There are a few threads you may want to search for regarding the total cost of ownership and the build quality of the vehicle. IMO the M is my favorite product that Infiniti has come out with in recent history.

They are very good cars and most of the members that have them really love them. Here is a recent thread regarding this.

Hmmm, I don't have the magazine with me, but as I remember it the empty circles are "average", red top half are "better than average", and full red are "much better than average". So your question could be "are people really finding these cars better than average?".

So far (touch wood) my admittedly short ownership experience with my used 2006 has been faultless. The only problem I had was a rear door window that forgot how to go all the way down, and the retraining instructions that I found here on the NICO forums fixed it.

You are correct. That was kind of my definition, which isn't accurate.
