I'm sure there will be a complete Pathfinder refresh in the next year or two. The pathfinder is usually restyled every 4-5 yearsQproject wrote:seems like the fuel gauge meter is a common issue, but so far kinda minor stuff from what I gather.
the pre-owned 05+ pathy's are great prices right now, I want the 06+ due to the 05's having first year issues.
but yeah, I can't believe they still making same style in 2010!
Funny you mention this, I also have an 06 Titan and the damn thing ran out of gas on me a couple weeks ago when the gauge actually read 1/3 tank remaining! I don't know if its intermitent or random but now I am leary of when the gauge goes down.Pwnin O’Brien wrote:

On my 05 I've changed the Battery, rear tires (only because the dealer mess up the alignment) wipers.Best truck I've ever drivien...Runs through snow/ice with ease!Qproject wrote:hello all, thinking bout pickin up a 2005 to 2007 pathfinder....what are the common problems of this year range ? thanks
I'm going to check into that recall...I had one for a sensor replacement on the bumper for the airbagsSalem240 wrote:I have a 2005 with no problems so far. I did have a recall/sevice bulletin that was performed on the intake about 2yrs ago. I also tow quite a bit and it's been good.

We had to replace the transmission and radiator due to engine coolant getting into the transmission, this is not uncommon, google this topic and see what you come up with. The dealer was helpful in getting this done under warranty.
Replaced a front left drive shave even though we've used the AWD setting about 4 times in 4 years.
Replaced a fuel sending unit which required the tank to be drained of fuel, about 5 hours of labor and parts.
The usual tires, brakes, rotors for any car of this age and milage.
My '05 with 62k is in the shop now because it won't start due to a ground fault possibly caused by loose wires in the steering column and possibly a bad Body Control Module. I am awaiting a final diagnosis, but it seems like the dealer is not sure and is changing parts to see what works, hopefully I will get out for less than $1k.
I learned a huge lesson to never buy a first year car without an extended warranty, I am pissed beyond words with this vehicle and to top it off, I have been out of work for 5 months, this is the last thing that I need right now.
NissanTech50902 wrote:Common problems that I always work on for those model Pathfinders & Frontiers. This doesnt include recalls since those are covered 99% of the time. 1 exception is if your car is salvage title:
1) Fuel Sending unit - I do at least 1-2 a week. *Dehammer* 5 hrs labor? drain and fill the tank? I do mine in 1hr. No need to drain tank. We just recommend you come with 1/4 tank or less when the work is done.
2) Window regulators @ All 4 corners. They jus go out after so much us. Not to be confused with window motors.
3) IPDM - Crank No start, Car dies, Runs super rough - The relay is built into the IPDM itself so you cant remove it.
4) Chirpping Noise from Belt/Pulley area after belt replacement or removal - Alternator, PS & Tensioner out of alignment
I havnt seen the transmission/radiator issue here myself but maybe one of the other techs has. Those 4 up top i wrote are ones I get alot. YES!!!! Get an extended warranty. If you do pick it up, when you take it in for its first service, have them run your VIN and see if you have any outstanding recalls. All recalls are registered in Nissan North America (NNA) system so any dealership has that info.
