I have an 07, the only problem I ever had from 0-26,000 was a faulty tpms sensor in one of my wheels.

seems like the fuel gauge meter is a common issue, but so far kinda minor stuff from what I gather.

the pre-owned 05+ pathy's are great prices right now, I want the 06+ due to the 05's having first year issues.

but yeah, I can't believe they still making same style in 2010!

I'm sure there will be a complete Pathfinder refresh in the next year or two. The pathfinder is usually restyled every 4-5 years

When i had my 06 it had driver side window failure, slot 5 of the cd failed. Other than that was pretty good, just the standard tires brakes and oil.

Funny you mention this, I also have an 06 Titan and the damn thing ran out of gas on me a couple weeks ago when the gauge actually read 1/3 tank remaining! I don't know if its intermitent or random but now I am leary of when the gauge goes down.

I have a 2005 with no problems so far. I did have a recall/sevice bulletin that was performed on the intake about 2yrs ago. I also tow quite a bit and it's been good.

some of the frontier and pathfinders have the airbag crash sensor in the front bumper that needs to be replaced thats a recall on some have to contact the dealer to see if yours needs it done

the fuel level sensor goes bad alot in pathfinders an frontiers of those years

also in all titans pathfinder an frontiers of those years have problems with ipdm the ecm relay goes bad so if you ever cant start or its runnin really rough blows out black smoke an wont stay started you can take your relay from ur fogs or rear defroster an plug into the ecm an it will crank over though this is a temp fix till you get it to the dealer an replace the ipdm cause i dont think you can buy just the relay

buy an extended warranty.

We had to replace the transmission and radiator due to engine coolant getting into the transmission, this is not uncommon, google this topic and see what you come up with. The dealer was helpful in getting this done under warranty.

Replaced a front left drive shave even though we've used the AWD setting about 4 times in 4 years.

Replaced a fuel sending unit which required the tank to be drained of fuel, about 5 hours of labor and parts.

The usual tires, brakes, rotors for any car of this age and milage.

My '05 with 62k is in the shop now because it won't start due to a ground fault possibly caused by loose wires in the steering column and possibly a bad Body Control Module. I am awaiting a final diagnosis, but it seems like the dealer is not sure and is changing parts to see what works, hopefully I will get out for less than $1k.

I learned a huge lesson to never buy a first year car without an extended warranty, I am pissed beyond words with this vehicle and to top it off, I have been out of work for 5 months, this is the last thing that I need right now.

I wonder if a better made aftermarket radiator and some upgraded hoses would remedy this problem, I still want a 08 LE

catalytic converters also go bad fairly regularly in the 05-06 Pathfinder, Xterra, and Frontier. Nissan was getting crap cats, and they were essentially disintegrating, and thus clogging up the exhaust, which in turn often robbed power, and triggered a P0507 code.

Common problems that I always work on for those model Pathfinders & Frontiers. This doesnt include recalls since those are covered 99% of the time. 1 exception is if your car is salvage title:

1) Fuel Sending unit - I do at least 1-2 a week. *Dehammer* 5 hrs labor? drain and fill the tank? I do mine in 1hr. No need to drain tank. We just recommend you come with 1/4 tank or less when the work is done.

2) Window regulators @ All 4 corners. They jus go out after so much us. Not to be confused with window motors.

3) IPDM - Crank No start, Car dies, Runs super rough - The relay is built into the IPDM itself so you cant remove it.

4) Chirpping Noise from Belt/Pulley area after belt replacement or removal - Alternator, PS & Tensioner out of alignment

I havnt seen the transmission/radiator issue here myself but maybe one of the other techs has. Those 4 up top i wrote are ones I get alot. YES!!!! Get an extended warranty. If you do pick it up, when you take it in for its first service, have them run your VIN and see if you have any outstanding recalls. All recalls are registered in Nissan North America (NNA) system so any dealership has that info.

CPO - Certified Pre-Owned right? Well I surely dont wanna answer something im not 100% sure on as im not an adviser but a technician. On your next service, not matter what it is, ask your adviser to run your warranty and look up:

1:) Fuel Sending units2:) Window motors & Regulators3:) IPDM (Intelligent Power Distribution Module4:) Belt & Tensioner assemblies

There is so many types of warranties. Some cover you 100%, some cover 50% and some have deductibles which are often jus $50 but can be more im sure. Like I said, I cant answer that question completely but your adviser can. If they are as dedicated as our team, then im sure they will be happy to assist you. If not, just kindly ask to speak to the Service Manager/Director.
