common causes Y ign. chip, injectors, ecu F up?

if u know, please let me know what are some common causes for these parts to go wrong:

gnitor chip?injectors?blown ecu (burnt)?

theres gotta be a short in the main power supply or somtehing..... Seems strange that all that stuff would go bad, there should be fuses for that!

The ignitor chip and the ECU can get burned out if the battery posts are reversed during installation.

The fuel injectors generally go bad from dirt clogging.

Have you ever removed the + battery cable while the engine was running? If so than this may have caused the ECU and chip probs. When voltage is interrupted, a voltage spike occurs and this may be more than the ECU and chip can take. Just a thought. If not then please give more details.
