Coilovers are a very crucial part to your car. I wouldnt recommend cheaping out on them.

Don't save up for megans. Save up for something GOOD, or at least decent.

Usually $1000+ is a good starting point. At that price good brands like D-max, PBM, and others can be had.

Anything cheaper and you run a pretty high risk of them blowing in a pretty short period of time, which costs you more money. Plus the ride quality isn't going to be as good.

yes, i ran a set i got off of sky40 or whoever it was. street type. they were fine, i had no problems at all...they arent silkroad but they are decent enough for a streetcar.
most of the kids who talk s*** about this or that type of coilovers usually dont own any and dont know any better than what they read.
megans are fine, but price wise for id guess 200 more bucks you can buy -parts shop max or Dmax...which seem a bit tougher, little more of a quality product...and arent ridiculously overpriced. all 3 i mentioned are between 900-1200 im pretty sure. which is what id expect to pay for a C.O. setup.

I've had megan for 2 and a half years and no problems. Nothing is blown.
I wish I got something a little more adjustable. These don't go as low as I want.

Have to agree. Their website is full of other company's photos and graphics. Thats a big red flag right there. Also, they don't list specs for anything. Another red flag. Also, they advertise hundreds of parts, most of which don't appear to have any branding on them at all. Final red flag.

$1k can get you your pick of most of the entry level coilovers available. Megan, PBM, Stance, etc. I would start there.

I've seen them on Google shopping for under $1300. I bet vendors will sell them for around $1200 or so when the holidays come. These have softer spring rates than GR+'s, so I bet they'll be more comfy on the street. Plus they go an inch lower than the old Megans, which went about as low as Stance's did. Ontop of that, the external resevoirs give more control and adjustability over your dampening. No more bouncy Megans. We're talking a Powered By Max-like drop with a soft ride for the street...

At first glance, they seem wildy superior to GR+'s, IMO. In fact, these new RS Spec coils would be roughly comparable to Stance's GR+3 coilovers, which cost over $3000. But I don't have first hand experience, so I'll reserve judgement. But usually, you'd have to spend around $2k+ to get coilovers with these kinds of features. Looks like a bargain to me... :gotme
