hiya all, i'm new, from Sydney and am about to head over to the states for 6 mths so i thought i'll take the chance to get some parts for my 180sx (CA18DET fastback 240sx shape)im focusing on us-local brands for value-for-money so i just have a few questions:

will a cat-back exhaust for the 240sx fit my factory CA? is the system from cat-back (& location of the cat) identical for all s13 fastbacks? i did a search on this, and was particularly interested in the megan racing someone bought here before...

what did you guys do with suspension following your CA conversions? ppl from the aussie silvia forums have advised against buying struts from the US because the spring and shock rates are designed for the heavier KA engine...

what brake specs were avaialbe for the s13 240sx? here in aust the CA and SR models had different brakes. whereas it seemed that there was a universal rotor size for 89-94 240sx's..

i hope im not repeating stuff which had been asked. but im so excited about this trip and all the good loot that i just had to ask :)

Im using the same suspension I had on my KA and it handles just fine for me right now. The exhaust is located the same way.

Exhaust - It's the same for all S13's all over the world

Suspension - a lot of people are using JDM springs with their KA's and aren't having any problems with them. Struts won't matter regardless

Brakes - I don't know them off the top of my head, but I think they were both about 10" (front and back)

I think there a tad bit over 10", but I cant really remember, and there single piston if that matters.

JDM K's 2.0 had bigger pistons in the calipers. I bet your 180SX has the same calipers as the USDM S13s.

Hey, since you're in aussie land, I've got a question for you. Do the 180's over there have o2 sensors? If so, do you have a part # for them? I just bought a flying dump pipe and the o2 sensor bung is too small. Anyway, lemme know. Thanks!

ghetto '180SX big brakes' are older maxima calipers with newer altima rotors (I forgot which part#'s off the top of my head, if you search on freshalloy it's been discussed a million times, assuming search WORKS..) warning: brake lines won't fit right anymore, you can't attatch them to strut as intended. I plan to eventually get some custom SS lines made (until then I have some russel's meant for stock brakes, both ends are fine its just the strut mounting point, I wrapped it in vacuum tubing and ziptied it to the strut to protect and hold it in place since you can't C-clip it in)

We do a lot of Z brake upgrades here. I've got it done to my car. I love it.

Yeah after the CA is running healthy next upgrade for me is 5 lug conversion and some 300ZX NA wheels with nice high performance rubber and 300ZX brakes ... THEN I can look into bigger than stock turbos etc :D
