So - I traded my 15 Q70S with every option for a 2106 Audi S6. I lived in Beverly Hills at the time. Moved to Dallas - fast forward 18 months. S6 is a beast - I have over 9k in it including matte grey wrap and tune to 575 hp.

But - these TX roads are f'd and the amount of miles I'm putting on my car is ridiculous. I'm tired of dealing with bent rims, fear of a rock chip in the front wind shield (2100 for glass and 750 to recalibrate the sensors), and huge trucks with sand and gravel, and stupid drivers. This car is just not a good fit for here. So buh bye.

Picking up a new 18 Q70S in black - everything except ProACTIVE package (none in black to be found). I really liked my 15 and it was bullet proof.

For this one I am not doing quite as much as last time as this will be workhorse for me:

Aero side sills
H&R Spacers
UPRev Tune - maybe ECUTEK after some more comparative research
LED interior bulbs
sound deadening in trunk, doors and wheel wells
Tanabe or GTSPec or front brace
Might go to 255/40 -20s Michelin PSS
Might ghost the chrome - or Expel wrap it to make it slightly matte black

Question I have is for newer Q's with 20's. On my 15 I did the H&R spacers with the stud replacement as the newer sport 20s don't have the reliefs in the rear of the wheel. Not really wanting to do that again. I had also ground the studs once...so not really into that as well.

Has anyone found a direct bolt on that does not require that...for 15mm up front and 20mm in rear?

There are 280 posts alone on spacers...but not one is super clear on this or they on older versions.

Looking forward to being back.

thx

Going to ask anyway but I'm assuming your 15 wasn't lowered? With the sport 20's, I believe 20mm bolt on spacers fit securely without having to change the original studs.

What size H&R spacers did you have installed previously?

I had it lowered and then put it back to stock due to all the weird elevation changes in building entrances, driveways in hills, etc...

I looked up an old post of mine and it says 15mm front and 20mm back. But I could have sworn I had issues with the studs and did the stud replacements. Sucks getting old. Or just having too many cars. lol

Kinda wondering if anyone with a 2015+ bought 15 or 20 and if they are running with no issues. If so...what brand and link? BTW - there are so many more vendors for spacers than when I left this forum last time.

Lol. Well I have a 14 and had the same issue with the backs of the wheels not being able to accommodate bolt-on 15mm spacers because of the back of the OEM sport wheels but as I mentioned previously, when I switched to 20mm spacers they bolted up with no issues. They weren't any special brand, just generic hubcentric spacers.

IIRC, I used some 20mm Ichiba v2 spacers front and rear and the OEM studs protruded beyond the face of the spacer a tiny bit. 25mm spacers should fit without that problem.

Not 100% sure if the sport wheels are exactly the same, I did hear that the sport wheels have "enough" relief to accommodate the studs. I just did the 25mm spacers and I'll be honest it looks ok. I'm starting to like it more everyday but I'll be lowering the car so it should bring that in a bit. I can't post pics but pm me and I'll give you my cell. I have posted it before on here but not really wanting to do that. I'll give you my cell and I can text you the pics. I also installed 275 35 20 tires all around.. Looks aggressive.

Good luck and congrats on the new car. It's our a 5.6 or a 3.7?

Thanks
Andy

You need 25mm if there's no cutout on the back side of the wheels. 20mm will stick out the studs just slightly.

5mm is very minimal, you may not even notice the difference between the two..
Mine have a slight concave to them and might accolade 20mm. Thought someone here did that but not suite.

I looked at my previous posts and I think I did 15mm front and 20mm back...

5mm and such are usually for when that amount is needed for a wheel to clear a caliper...not really for stance. On my S6 I had to use 3mm as the wheel offset needed it to clear...and then I did 5mm in rear to make it flush on all 4 corners.
