My teacher master mechanic for 27 years told me, "All gaskets are a one time use." No matter what use, how long or how many mileage put on them. Once you tighten the head bolts, it will press down the head gasket forming the seal.

well assuming the gasket saw heat and obviously was already torqued down, the gasket crushes and seals. one of my honda buddies did with his b16, but i wouldnt reuse the gasket since you don't know if it will seal the new motor the same way it sealed the old motor.

Im no master mecanic, but I wouldn't think a metal gasket would compress like a paper one would.

I dont know what the fcuk your teacher was smoking but my Apexi MLS HG was torqued down at least on 6 different occasions. Never did ONCE did the HG leak once.

So if its a quality MLS gasket then yes, you can use.

I did not notice he was talking about a metal head gasket.... Im not sure what my teacher was smoking, but he was, and most of the people back in the 60-70s did... Anyways I believe my teacher was mentioning oem gaskets since he did not work for a performance shop, but a dealership.

Sorry if what I said came out as a bit offensive and rude. I apologize as I was a bit tired and what not.

I hope no hard feelings.

No hard feeelings. I never like my teacher anyway in terms of personality.. Always gave me work in the shop and left the punks in the classroom. Hehehe, you could do a DIY step by step on Replacing the head gasket with pictures. Than, I would be the one apologizing for being rude.
