Jesda: That operating system looks an awful lot like QNX, a realtime POSIX compliant operating system, very UNIX like. Been around a long time, is used for the most mission critical realtime stuff . . . I have a Scientific Atlanta digital cable box that runs it, I think, the last time I messed around with it at all. Wouldn't be at all surprised if that's what it was . . .

haha thats funny, at mcdonnalds they have a fully digital ordering menu thing, and it had the windows 2k blue screen of death one day when i pulled up.. pritty funny.. also one time at the airport the system that tells u if the flights are ontime and what not were all out, all blue screen of death... lol.. your cable provider is probily using winblows insted of unix or linux (or even better their own system)

I have heard comcast is quick with finding that out. There was a company in Arizona or somewhere that offered a different monthly payment for how much speed you want. that is something I think comcast should o.

i think for the kinda money u pay these basturds for internet access you should beable to transfer as much data as u want, as fast as the line can handle.. i think they should just invest in a better backbone line at the main office, and then let everyone go as fast as they want.. but oh well, some day high speed wireless internet will be everywere and hopefully will be free, i know around here there is free internet all over the place where u can link in.. somtimes not always leagle, but thats people faults for not setting up a scure wireless network ;)
