I've been trying to suss out ways of getting my tail lights to look like the G37 concept car (with the blue hue shift);

I've found Alsa Corp make similar chameleon overlays but they arent clear/transparent. Bluebat doesnt seem to stock anything like this either.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how the effect would be achieved? What about VHT tints? It seems simple enough, just a matter of finding a decent product.

Heres a photoshop I did of one of my pics, this is how I want it to look, probably in blue or purple.

Try to email to the guy at bluebatmobile. He is pretty open minded. He is probably your best bet.

Ultra Violet!!

UV Rays are always emitted from the sun ?? am i right? .. UV paint reacts to that!

Thats what they used probally .. UV PAINT!

Good in theory, but will not work.

Visible light overrides UV light, and also these kinda of paints arent designed to be used in direct sunlight, it would kill the Flurocse.

Could be wrong but doubt that stuff would work. Anyone ever tried it before?

I think we see this from the wrong angle. We should look into differently. How about paint instead of the overlay. Like clear coat with color changing.

Here is a link I know it is not a clear coat type just for an idea.

What do you think?

Thats the blue/purple/red one. Anyone seen any example pics of what this stuff looks like on other surfaces? We are getting closer!

This *should* technically be legal right, considering the tail lights would still be red and still give off red light?

that's the best part of it because it should not change much on it. Just an apparance. We should try to find a pic where they applied this as you said.

I think it would be a good idea to get a crapy one like old toyota from the junkyard and try it on that one. Just in case if it doesn't turn out to good.

i was going to order some , but considering i got no spare tail lights ... I cant...

If it turns out good you HAVE to put a water proof clear coat over it! .. it will wash off in time .... --- also ... Just buy some Mineral Spirits and it will wash off like water
