after many miles of high speed highway driving{136,000},the front bumper and hood of the Q is peppered with rock chips too numerous to count!I have seen mobile paint touchup specialists at the dealer fix these using a syringe loaded with paint at the dealers lots-fixing the cars up to put on the "previously owned" lot.they also use an air brush to touch up the bumpers-right there in the parking lot! has anyone here have any experience using this type of service?what are the end results-good or bad?need feedback before i take the plunge next week! quoted $175.000 to fix hood and respray front bumper.the paint is original,and very glossy,just littered with white specs from the chips{Cypress green pearl}

Do it!

The airbrush guys at the dealership do good work, and that's a smoking price.

I have a very similar situation with my G35. My hood and front bumber have a bunch of little white specs. I haven't yet taken it to the dealer to get a quote on how much it would cost to have them taken care of. I was guessing quite abit, but now that I read that you have been quoted $175, I may have to go take it in and have them quote me for the work. Let us know how it goes.

Or get the Stongard kit. I have seen them on a G35 and FX 45 (upon careful close-up inspection) and they are great for protecting a pristine front end.

They are nice! But a bit expensive ... I was quoted $1200 to get it done for my M45 (which did not have it from the dealer.)

Should be about $500-$600, without the 20% San Jose mark-up.($444.95 for the complete custom kit, less installation).

Too much. Go to the website http://www.stongard.com and find a recommended dealer in your area. When you call, you will probably get Leslie.
