I was going to order a couple of injectors for a 91Q and it seems that they were available in several color codes denoting spray pressure. I found a good price (in relative terms) from one supplier, but they only have the one color code which I don't think matches mine. Basic question is, does it matter? Does the car's ecu make adjustments automatically to compensate. Other times I have had replacements I was unaware of other choices so I may already be running on an assorted variety. I will be having a local shop do it and would like to preorder the injectors, hence my question.

Think twice before providing injectors{or any other labor intensive part} to a shop for installation, as if/when they fail you have to pay again to replace- whereas if the shop performing the labor provides the parts, everything should be covered under their warranty{ most shops are 12 months/12,000 miles}..... Big difference!!!!!

What the difference between wholesale and retail price is for an internal profit that self insures/warranties the parts for the 12/12 shop warranty

The 12-15% net profit is really only earned when you have no risk to replace the part you just replaced 365 days ago.

Real accountants always set up a reserve for warranty work that declines every quarter.

Very good point, but we are not talking of 10% or even 40% difference. The installer wants $460 EACH- just for the part!An Infiniti dealer is around $225 and other sources are about $190. It looks like they really would prefer me to buy my own as that way they are absolved of all liability regardless of faulty part. My nearest Infiniti dealer won't quote me a price for labor or parts over the phone, so it's probably worth the drive to go to the other dealer. I'm still curious as to what the reason is for all those color codes though.

What Injectors are bad?

How do you know they are bad?

What do they all OHM at? http://q45.org/ohminjectors.html

#1, #2 and #8 injectors are replaceable with out removing the plemum, If you are patient and willing to want to work on your car then do it your self and save some money.

Really? Sure it is not flow rates?
