My 2015 Nissan Murano is having an intermittent problem with the collision avoidance light. It sometimes stays on after ignition and as a result the backup camera also does not work. I have to re-start the car several times before it disappears and all is good. The problem seems to occur most frequently when the vehicle has been off for several hours plus. Anyone have a suggestion?

The backup cam not working won't happen as a result of a DTC, so it has to be symptomatic of something more critical going south in the ADAS system, one of the ADAS controllers or a CAN failure in the ADAS partition of the bus. You'll need to get the ADAS scanned to find out what's going on.

Sounds serious but please explain what are DTC, ADAS and CAN?

DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code, commonly just called a "code"
ADAS = Advanced Driver Assistance System, the ADAS and ADAS2 controllers coordinate the actions of all the driver assistance devices and sensors, Front and Side Radars, Lane Cam, Mirror and Backup Cams, Sonar, etc
CAN = Controller Area Network, the communications bus that links all the computers in a modern car
