Imma call BS on this story. There's no way that that belongs to the FBI. The government has more advanced technology than most people realize. I'm sure they have tracking devices the size of a coin that can be placed anywhere in the car that you would never find.

Prolly DHS with de-com'd FBI equipment.

When they guys is saying s*** like: "“My plan was to just put the device on another car or in a lake,” Khaled wrote, “but when you come home to 2 stoned off their asses people who are hearing things in the device and convinced its a b0mb you just gotta be sure.” When he's that open about something like that, I have to wonder what he's trying to hide. There are dozens of reasons why that thing could be on his car.

Hmmm... Next up, telling people about law enforcement interactions will be a crime...

I would not have given it back without a lawyer. They put it on your vehicle. They chose to give it to you.

Please don't.

I think I'd have ordered a rubber duck on ebay in alabama or something, and drove there to pick it up. Sounds like fun.

Love it when people say "I ain't doing nothing!"... usually you see them on COPS, high out of their mind without a shirt. If he's doing nothing wrong, then the FBI wouldn't be tracking him.

Why don't you start with this one and then find the other thousand credible sources on what happens when a government becomes so intent at starting at its own navel that it forgets to uphold the Constitutional freedoms it is otherwise sworn to protect.

You are placing a lot of faith in this agency ^^ cause I'm sure they'd never make any mistakes. And your idea that the FBI wouldn't be tracking him if he weren't doing anything wrong is foolish. Given the opportunity, the FBI would be tracking all of us. If you don't believe that I'd really like to start taking whatever it is that you're on.

Edit: too slow to post. Chad wins.

The FBI isn't exactly benevolent. It has a long history of questionable acts. The fact they are tracking this kid doesn't make them right and him wrong. It just seems like it's typical post-9/11, federal law-enforcenment procedure. Patriot Act at it's best/worst.

But I think we all agree his reaction is strange. He seemed too calm about it all, almost amused. I'm pretty sure if this happened to any of us, we would have raised hell. Especially if the FBI showed up at out house to threaten and intimidate for the return of the device. I would have been on the phone calling an attorney and every news station I could.

edit: too slow as well!

Wait...aren't you the same guy who pisses and moans about how government is a corrupt entity and will take our freedoms away at the drop of a hat if anyone with any liberal viewpoint is even allowed near the DC Metro area?

Haha, point taken! However, my name is based on irony, considering I live in a dry town beseiged with archaic blue laws and a summer full of Class 1 renta-cops who masturbate to images of Blackhawk tactical gear. My opinion of government and law enforcement is based on most of my family and friends being employed by various state and federal law agencies, and a degree in Poli Sci. I try to think my opinions are balanced, but stories like this really make it difficult...

No, I bet if this happened to any of us we'd be like, "Officer, I think you accidentally placed this on my car. Here, I removed it and polished it for you!"
