So, I think the perfect car for me is the light weight and versatile 240sx paired with the light weight and versatile 2.3 liter ford/mazda duratec/mzr engine. The problem is that, while being a decent backyard mechanic, I've never done an engine swap before and need some help collecting what I need for one. Here's what I have so far. This is the bare minumum to get the car running safely. I'm not worried about the tach or speedo or anything right now.
1) Engine and bellhousing from a ford ranger.2) t-5 transmission from anything,3) custom engine and transmission mounts.4) custom driveshaft.5) custom exhaust.6) megasquirt paired to stock but modified engine harness7) hoses for brake booster, coolant, fuel, clutch and power steering8) wiring for reverse lights9) wiring for obd compliant stuff ????
Anything else anybody can think of? I need all the help I can get, since I'd like to get this done in two weekends and a work week. I need to know as best I can what I need up front. Thanks.
