Collecting dirt in the fender

Hello,
When you open the front doors of Rogue you can see a lot of dirt collected in the corner at the bottom of what I think is called fender (see attached picture).
I also noticed a little screw hole marked on the picture, that seems to exist there to mount a cover that would probably keep that corner free of dirt.
Is my Rogue missing a part?

My 2019 has a foam like piece in there. I’d rather have it open so I could rinse it out.

I'm with Svtrit. Depending where you drive, you need to check this area every few months and wash it out completely if there is anything there. Do this as soon as possible after driving in salt.

I see the place holder fir the image, but not the image itself. It was not uploaded properly, I guess.

The part is missing on both sides, so I doubt it was lost.
