Ok, so back in 2007, I bought the Bioshock Special Edition which came with a Big Daddy figurine. My Big Daddy is still in its original packaging. I'm going to be moving and am trying to raise some extra capitol. Right now, the figurines are going on eBay for as much as $250. So, do I sell it now or wait a few more years? My buddy told me that with games, in a few years it may depreciate as the game fades into the past, but it also might continue to appreciate.

Any thoughts or advice?

A dealer who handles figurines like that would be in a much better position to speculate whether the value is expected to go up or down over the next few years. Is $250 more or less than what you paid for it?

Ha! No. I think the special edition of the game was like $75 or so. The same thing is selling on Amazon now for $795.95 (http://www.amazon.com/Bioshock-Limited- ... B000VESHEQ) which is very ridiculous. I don't know who to take it to...

^ This.

The value will be an inverted decaying curve.

I listed it on eBay. Hopefully it'll sell. Started bidding at $125.

I have the PC collector's edition with the big daddy and original packaging. It's opened though. I never even considered that it might have any value at all. Dunno why the crap I wasted money on the collector's edition in the first place; I hate pack-in garbage. Game wasn't even that good anyway.

IMO that game kinda sucked.

I am surprised people are still hyped about it now, and I could not for the life of me see it ever being "classic". I can only imagine it will eventually fade into obscurity, as there is no real reason I can see for it to stand out as the "first" or "best" of anything.... I would sell now.

But as I said, I never though the game was special. Maybe I didn't give it a fair chance, or understand it... If you can think of reasons this game would stand out and really become a classic then it may be worth something some day, otherwise I bet this is around the sweet point to move the thing.
