I've searched a lot on coilovers for my 240 vert, and it looks like I'm going for KTS coilovers. They fit with my budget, ride quality(my guess)...etc. I could get S-Tech or Sportline springs, but people who own them say that save up and go for coilovers. Then... there are some entry level coilovers like Tein Basic & Megan Racing. Then again, some of these entry level coilover owners say spend little more and get KTS. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who owns KTS on 240 in my area, so I have no idea on ride quality. I also talked to the guy from SPLParts, and he said it wouldn't be that bad as a daily driver compared to other coilovers. Stock springs are bit soft for me, and I want to drop my car really bad. I have this huge factory wheel gap. I also bought some 17 inch rims too. They are 17x8 +38. I had a good deal, so I couldn't pass. So I'm trying to complete my rims, tires and suspension upgrade that I've been dreaming about for a while. Whoever owns coilovers on their verts... Can you give me some advice? Getting KTS coilovers is a good idea or not? How about installation? Front looks easy enough, but back looks tough because of the tight space on top. Any suggestions and ideas would be appreciated. THANKS!!!

P.S.: I hate stock setup... My driver side is 1.5 inch lower than passenger side(rear) and I think I have a problem with one of the shocks... It was that way when I bought the car in 1999. Man... it looks ugly from behind...

I have the megan streets on mine and love them they offer everything unlike the basics -- also just for some knowledge you are going to have to run atleast 5mm spacers to fit those wheels with coilovers on the fronts -- hope this helps -- for the price megan is the best - I bought mine through XAT in tampa -coilovers with install was 1050 pretty good deal

nrod17,Thanks for your info. Yeah, MR coils have camber plates unlike basic. Yes, I do have a set of 5mm spacers ready. You can get MR coils $900 shipped on eBay. So basically you paid $150 for the installation I guess. What are the specs on your wheels and tires? I also did search and came up with these two.

215/45(F) 235/40(R)or225/45(F) 245/40(R)

I know rear tires will fit just fine for both, but I'm not sure 225 should be okay for the front with 5mm spacers. Someone(SRSmith) has 215 on front with coilover and he said 215 fits fine. SPLParts said they are not sure about 225 with +33 offset.

Oh! Also the reason I posted here is... Vert weighs more than coupe or hatchback, so I wanted to hear from vert owners. I hope you guys understand...

Thanks guys. I guess I'll post in 240 general or tire & suspension forums about front tire fitment/clearance issue later. How about installation? Anyone installed coilovers by yourself especially rear ones? How tough is it to owrk on?

"8k front/6k rear. rides great." Good to know. As far as I know, KTS has same spring rate. A friend of mine used to have a set of Cusco on his coupe and he said ride was extremely harsh. I'm glad to hear that you are getting hks. hks should be better.

yeah you can get the kts with that rate.

my friend has them in his coupe and they feel very similiar.

installing coilovers is pretty straightfoward. have you ever done shocks/struts? its the same deal.

only problem i had was that i had to notch the a piece of metal that is around the top hardware. my c/o have the rear adjustment knob on top and it was hitting
