I know there aren't many of us, but I wanted to do a quick check. Give a shout if you drive your Z when Old Man Winter comes around and what prep work you do waiting for the white stuff to drop.

Pics welcome! But none of that gray snow...I want to see some of that white snow that would look at home in a Warren Miller flick.

Holy Ghost of Christmas past, Batman! You and Sluggo in the same week, almost within 24 hours! Cool cool. I just pulled a webcam at IU to check up on the snow that's dropping there! Are you still in Columbus?

For the first time in forever I took the Xterra to work instead of the Z since I knew I'd be driving back in an icy slush. The Z would have been fine but I would have had to stay in the right hand lane. The Rhino (our name for the Xterra) let me get through some of the more timid drivers by using the left hand lane - it was my first day really driving it in bad conditions and it was a completely unstoppable beast! I've got some plans to take some pics in the mountains this week since I got my Bridgeston 960's mounted up.

Glad to see you back on here!

ha, thanks man! i am. ive been more a lurker lately, but i still snoop around pretty regular.

its not been quiiite as bad as im makin it out to be here. maybe 5-6" worth on the ground from 3 different snowfalls, but all the major roads are a-ok at the moment. i was still sportin the UHPs up until yesterday. bein as the rear ones were effectivly racing slicks, (new exhaust has been a terrible influence) they've made a huge difference.

ill bet the xterra is on freakin rails in this stuff. i was lucky enough to borrow my grandpas avalance last week. nice ownin the roads, but man did i miss the little orange bastard.

Was wondering when one of the FL or TX crew was going to chime in. :)

Need to get some heavy duty hatch struts...tired of propping up the hatch with my head because the stock struts can't cut it in the cold. Think I saw some over at Z1, or maybe CZP.

I hate that crap..so much. The VERY first time it happens in winter is the one that gets me the most, because I have all year to forget about that cold problem, then when i go to reach for something the hatch drops on my back. :squint:

Whats worse is when the latch hook (or watever) hits you square on the melon..

Saw a yellow touring edition Z33 off in a ditch backwards yesterday around Clyde, North Carolina. Didn't seem to be too much damage, but I know the suspension isn't going to be the same. Hopefully no frame damage. But apparently he didn't do much in terms of preparation.....

Wasn't me, but thanks for stopping and checking to see if it was. :poke: :gapteeth: Seriously, that's right in my neighbourhood, so to speak.

Took the Xterra out today in the snow and I was wondering what happened to the NWS forecast for a "warmer and drier" winter. I've no idea but I always liked taking to the streets in crappy weather, just to get out and about in it.

I'd have taken the Z out but the streets in the neighbourhood haven't been plowed. As it was I had to stop at the base of my driveway and shovel and lay down snow melt so I could get back up it and into the garage.

Wish I had a set of Blizzaks in the garage so I could go out and play. :)

We've had about an inch total snow since Christmas. I drove the Z to work this morning. On some streets I just stay out of it and get into 4th and 5th gear alot quicker. The car looks pretty clean. The Audi is the wifes car. It gets driven to work when we get the Ice storms or deep frame hugging snow. Image

We got 14.5 inches of snow in 28 hours. I heard it's the greatest amount of snow in Va Beach since 1980. Then the temps dropped to the low 20's and everything froze. After about a 4 days of the roads being treated, we tried taking my wifes 370Z out but it just wasn't happening. The roads were still way too bad. We drove my Titan 4x4 everywhere for over a week straight.

Yeah, no sense in tempting fate. I drove the Xterra around a few days last week when we had snow here in the mountains. Doesn't matter how much traction the Z has, eventually once the snow gets deep enough the Z will just turn into a plow.

You running some decent all seasons on the 370? I couldn't blame you if you weren't, it's not like Va. Beach sees a lot of snow, but it is nice to have a different rubber compound on when the temps drop below 40.
