hello everyone... i am new to this site and i just wanted to know if anyone is having or had any similar problems with their g35's during the cold weather....

i live in minnesota... so you gotta expect it to be cold... but recently.. the past couple of days have been around 10 to 15 degrees and when i start up my car... everything seems to work fine EXCEPT the sound of the stereo.... it stays silent for about 20 mins or so... and then the sound actually comes on... i'm wondering if it's due to the extreme cold... or that it just takes that much time to warm up and the sound will come back on...

if anyone has a good answer or has experienced this... please let me know...

thanks for taking your time to read this....

You didn't mention what year your G is but if you do a search there have been circuit board issues with some of the earlier G35s. It sounds like you may have a cold solder joint on a circuit board in the stereo? If the vehicle is new under warranty take it back to the dealer for a replacement under warranty.

No worries... that's why we're her my friend. I'm not a stereo wizard by any means though.

Put it this way, if it's still under warranty, doesn't matter really what it is as long as it's fixed right? The dealership should be able to isolate and fix the prblem.

Maybe someone here can chime in who is more audio saavy then me

Anyone else want to throw their $0.02 cents in??

I have the same problem with my 2004 coupe. But not even extreme cold. Seems anything below 70 degrees and it wont work. It is under warranty so I plan to take it in very soon. I'll post again with the results. I talked to an Infiniti sales rep (no one was available in service/repair at the time). He told me he doesn't believe stereo components are covered under warranty. Of course he wasn't sure and said he could be more help if I come trade it in for a 2007-08. Going to talk to the service folks tomorrow hopefully.
