Me and my 91Q live in Colorado. The other morning the temp was around 7 below. I went out to warm idle for about 15 mins. When I start it I typically don't use the pedal. When I went back the car was not running and I couldn't get it to hold after. It would start right up but wouldn't hold.

Luckily, later that day I was able to get it running well. I seem to recall a mechanic telling me before to push the accel half down during cold starts.I worry about the pedal start because it would race the engine before the oil has circulated. The car had been driven for awhile before parking for the night. I know quick hops are not recommended for the Q's so I avoid it. Any thoughts on why the fuel flow problem and cold start procedures? Thx

Oh yeah--GO COLTS!!!

I would definitely invest in a block heater.

No depressing of the accellerator pedal should be necessary.

Actually there is a TSB from Infiniti recommending pressing the pedal halfway during cold starts. I have never found it necessary, but I have never started a car in temperatures below 18-20F either. It took me a long time to realize that "XXX below" refers to below 0 and not below freezing!

Except on the Celsius scale.
