Yo, okay this morning I had one of those moments of the car shuddering on a cold start-up. After about a minute check engine light went off. Acceleration is still good though when pushed. I didn't drive it to work. So when I came back home, I started it again, drove a couple blocks, 5 - 10 mins passed, then before going to the gas station, check engine light was gone and I am driving good again. :wtf2:

I read some things here regarding the coolant temp sensor...could that be a culprit? It's a bit hard to diagnose when light disappears. I know there are a lot of reasons to look for like air filter, etc...but it seems to do that when there's a sudden climate change. Please advice. Thanks man/woman!

Did you see if it registered any codes?

Hey, check my post called "Another Fuel inj bites the dust?" Sounds like you have similar issue to me. Unfortunately I am trying to figure mine out still as well. Seems to only happen sometimes, which makes it more difficult to find the issue.

Yeah, i read your post...I recently just change my injector problem, also replaced spark plugs, including fuel filter...that's why I mentioned coolant temp sensor...no codes showing up. The engine light disappears after a few minutes of driving, basically when the car warms up, then I am back to normal. I might just buy this sensor since its only 25 bucks...I do have a question, though, one says gauge and one says ECU from courtesy parts. Which one is it? ECU?

Also, this is a simple install, correct...remove, replace, then put back together? I saw the diagram here somewhere or google...please advice

I knocked the connector off one of those temperature sensors on the front of motor. I did not get a check engine light but my car wouldn't start and it did throw a code. Can't remember what the code was, just popped the connector back in and she fired right up. The fact that you aren't showing any codes is strange.

The fact that you got inconsistent CEL makes me wonder if it really is the ECU going out on you.

Yeah, I do not know...I am "weirded" out also. Although, I did the put the key on ignition and don't start for 10 secs last Friday and didn't shrug at all, fired right up without the shake and the "check engine light." I think I'm just gonna keep doing that until I get the same experience again...see what happens. For now, I'm gonna pend to buy the CTS.

Have you cleaned all of the connectors on your motor? I would clean at the minimum, coil pack, injector, CAS, MAF, TPS, Temp, PTU, IAV. Corrosion on connectors is the most common cause of strange problems.

Yeah, some connectors but not all...coil packs, PTU, CAS, and IAV, I have not touched...I'll check on those. Will keep updates, if I experience it again.
