I recently started hearing a squealing when I start up the car. Check the coolant level and it was normal it doesn't overheat. Has anyone had issues on it and is it simple to repair? My vehicle is 2003 M45.

Being an M45, it is also likely to be the pulleys or more specifically their bearings.
If that is the case, repair isn't too bad for someone with some mechanical ability. Check out this link: topic589191.html

There's only one belt. It needs to be replaced. Tensioner bearings don't squeal. They make a metal-to-metal grinding noise that makes your fillings hurt.

Edit: Oh crap, I didn't see it was an '03. I don't know if you have more than one belt. Replace all belts to be sure.

All these bearings can make some kind of noise when they go bad. It's just a matter of how you want to describe the noise.

I think it's pretty rare to have an overstretched belt, especially with an auto tensioner. Automotive belts are engineered to some ridiculous numbers. The belt will dry-rot and ribs will crack before anything close to snapping happens.

If it's metal-to-metal and is constant, then it most certainly is the tensioner pulley bearing, then.

I removed the belt to check and the tensioner pulley is working good but the idler pulley sounded rough so it's the culprit. I ordered one from autozone.
