Starts extremely hard, have to crank it a couple times with a descent amount of pressure on the gas pedal. Once it starts it doesn't idle well for about 5 seconds and then she runs fine. This is only if the car has sat over night, or maybe for 6 hrs. Anyone else have this problem, or might have an Idea were to start looking?

From your description, it MIGHT be that you dont have enough residual fuel pressure in the system.

Next time you go to start your car after it sat for a while, try turning the key to the on position (not start), wait a few seconds (or until the fuel pump turns off if you can hear it), turn it off, then on again, wait a few seconds, turn it off, then crank it. This will pressurize the system before you try to start it, and if it works, you have a good idea if this is the problem.

If you have access to a fuel pressure gauge set, hook it up, pressurize the system, then just let it sit and check it again later. Some leakdown is normal. There's a specified pressure and time to wait, but I dont have a manual. If that's the problem, it will probably be a leaking check valve in the fuel pump, but it could be a pressure regulator not fully seating.

id say the little aacv thingy, but if it runs fine after only 5 seconds i would not think that would be the case. check the fuel, like jacob said, sounds like a safe bet to me.

Another symptom arose ... the engine now hesitates once it gets up to temperature, like it is starving for fuel. Could possible be a bad Fuel Pump .. anyone else have opionions ???

Replace your fuel filter as normal maintainence and a cheap and easy way to eliminate at least one variable.

Check fuel pressure and delivery volume.

Check all your vacuum hoses for being cracked, split or disconnected. Check all the intake tubing between the MAF and the throttle body.

If you have a meter or scope test your sensors like MAF, TPS, ECT, etc.. A good manual, like a factory service manual (worth the investment) will give you specs and test procedures.

fuel filter was replaced 500 +/- miles ago ... i don't have the tools to do that kind of diagnostics, so looks like its going to a dealer.
